Shamanic Journey work is a quiet, solitary skill. It brings about a change in the shaman’s brain.
a. Secret: It is the change that is the most important point!!! (From the most basic to the most advanced.)
b. How to speed up the process:
1. Fasting
2. Sound
3. Being alone.
4. Plants (Like using dynamite to blow a hole in a wall.) Not the best or first method one should use.
What is the Germanic Meaning of Life? (This is the reason for shamanic practice.)
The meaning of life is:
· You must increase your AWARENESS a little bit every day.
We as humans have access to all the knowledge and power of our ancestors.
· This is developed through AWARENESS of the different parts of the self, developing them individually, and helping them work together and to function as a balanced whole.
1. Three Wells: Level 1 (Three wells and the World Tree)
a. Bubbling Well – AKA Urds Well
b. Brimming Well – AKA Hvergelmir Well
c. Flowing Well – AKA Mimir Well
d. Bubbling Well is where the healing waters are located. The Norns pour this water on the roots of the World Tree every morning to heal any damage that has been done.
1. Nidhoggr and the serpent at the base of the spine.
e. Proper work at this level allows one to develop the cauldron or Odrorir, that will allow Odr and Megan to be developed at a higher level.
2. Awareness: (These exercises are the foundation of Odrorir and Odr!)
a. To develop a strong internal awareness, we will be working with Ond and Hugr.
1. Breathing exercises – Ond
2. Spiraling Joints and Guided Meditation - Hugr
3. Breath Work:
a. Basics
1. Circular Breathing
2. Natural Breathing
3. Healthy Breathing
4. Germanic World Tree and how it applies to shamanic inner and outer journey work.
a. In Pre-Christian times most people believed in Upper, “Middle,” and Lower worlds that were connected by a World Tree. In certain places it was the foundation of people’s ethical beliefs and in most places, it served as a guide through the human life cycle.
b. To the shaman, it is a personal and private experience.
c. The beginning shaman sees the World Tree as an internal map and itinerary for their body and soul.

6. Practice is important:
a. The will can be greatly increased through understanding.
b. Will is forged in many fires but one of the most important ones is the fire of knowing.
1. Knowing is understanding; knowing is belief; belief strengthens the threads that connect everything. Once we learn how to strengthen our grasp of the connecting threads, anything is possible.
Paths to reaching the Ecstatic State:
1. Meditation
2. Ritual
3. Rhythm
4. Fasting
5. Sacred Plants (Sacred plants should never be ones first go to.)
6. Movement
· It is important to understand that the Ecstatic State is not a journey, but simply the fuel for external Journey work. So, learning how to develop this the ability is a valuable skill but no the end goal.
