Days of the Week

What did our ancestors do on certain days of the week. Being more agriculturally based people, the Germans focused on living their lives by the Moon Wheel and specific meanings to the days of the week.

Sunday

Home and cattle, is moved on Sunday.

Monday

This day was seen as a bad day to move one's home or business. It was believed that finances would be reduced or cattle (believed that the integrity of the meat and milk output would be compromised.

Friday

Poor day to move cattle but a good day to move one's home or business. This is due to the Power, Frigg associated with a prosperous home and business.

Thursday

Good day to move cattle, home, and businesses.

This is because cattle are associated with Thor/Dunner. Thor is seen as the Power who is concerned with people and their everyday successes.

Saturday

Bad day to move home and business. OK to move cattle on this day.

On this day, id a stray cat approaches your home within a week of moving in, one should befriend the cat and consider the property to be where the cat belongs. This is related to the Power Frouwa/Freyja.
